New Heavier Charges Filed Against Vladimir Gasparyan
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has issued a clarification regarding a publication by the lawyer of Vladimir Gasparyan, in which it was stated.
“In the framework of the pre-trial investigation of the criminal case examined by the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, a publication has been posted online by the defender of Vladimir Gasparyan, concerning the improper qualification of the charges brought against him. In this regard, we find it necessary to inform that, based on the evidence obtained, in connection with the criminal case initiated under Article 375, Part 1 and Article 179, Part 3, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, on September 18, 2019, charges were brought against Vladimir Sergeyevich Gasparyan under Part 2 of Article 375 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
On September 25, 2019, a directive was received from the prosecutor responsible for monitoring the legality of the pre-trial investigation to amend the charges brought against Vladimir Gasparyan and to bring charges against him under Article 179 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, which is expected to be implemented to accuse him of misappropriation of particularly large amounts.
