Editors of "Hayeli.am" and "Armlur.am" Websites Interrogated
In connection with the criminal case regarding the death of Hayk Harutyunyan, the editors of the websites "Hayeli.am" and "Armlur.am" were interrogated today as witnesses. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
The editors refused the preliminary investigation body's suggestion to record the interrogation process and, citing Article 5 of the RA Law on Mass Media, did not disclose the source of information.
In response to the investigator's question regarding a witness who, after familiarizing himself with the publications, denied the circumstances presented in the articles, the representatives of the media did not provide a stance on the contradictory information and clarified that they merely published the information provided by their sources, again refusing to divulge the source.
It has been reported that the eyewitness to Hayk Harutyunyan's death stated in his additional testimony that he had not provided any information to the media regarding the incident. Furthermore, he expressed his outrage over the misinformation present in media outlets.
