More than 100 People Killed in Airstrikes in Yemen
The coalition in Yemen, led by Saudi Arabia, has carried out a series of airstrikes targeting Houthi centers. The bombings have resulted in the deaths of over a hundred individuals.
According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, the focus of the assaults was a detention center located in Damar city in southwestern Yemen, south of the capital Sana'a, which is under the control of the rebels. The Red Cross reported that more than 40 wounded individuals are currently receiving treatment in hospitals.
The Shia Houthi movement earlier reported at least 60 casualties and 50 injuries. A representative from the 'Ministry of Health' established by the movement in Yemen stated that at the time of the assault, there were 170 prisoners in the area.
In turn, the Saudi-led coalition claims that the attacks were directed at a Houthi military facility in Damar city that was used for storing drones and missiles. They asserted that these strikes “conform to international humanitarian law” and that the coalition “has taken measures to protect civilians.”
