Find the Traffic Light in the Bushes: Camouflaging Road Signs and Traffic Lights is Not Clever at All
In Armenia, every season of the year has its own characteristics when it comes to creating obstacles on the roads. A correspondent from news.am writes: during winter, it is the "unexpected" fallen, uncleaned snow; in autumn, it is the potholes filled with rainwater of unknown depths; and in spring and summer, it is the lushly grown bushes and trees. However, despite the love for nature, concealing traffic signs and lights in this way is not clever at all.
It should also be added that there are not many road signs to begin with, and sometimes the only sign is hidden among the bushes. Yet, it seems that the Road Police are not very concerned about these issues. Meanwhile, in the first half of 2019, there were 2,088 recorded traffic accidents in Armenia, which resulted in 159 deaths and 3,017 injuries. In the same period last year, there were 1,711 traffic accidents recorded, resulting in 138 deaths and 2,517 injuries.
