Major Car Accident in Yerevan: Residents Demand Promises be Fulfilled
Today, on August 18, a major car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 18:40, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Nansen and Jughayi streets in the Nor-Nork administrative district: an Opel model with the license plate 35 QL 832 and a Mitsubishi Io with the license plate 35 CP 179. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the collision caused the Opel to flip over. Fortunately, preliminary reports indicate that there are no injuries.
Officers from the Yerevan Traffic Police arrived promptly at the scene. Investigative materials are being prepared regarding the incident. Representatives from insurance companies also arrived swiftly. Residents living in nearby apartment buildings voiced their concerns, saying, 'Traffic accidents frequently occur in this area. We have requested both the municipality and the Traffic Police to install artificial bumps in this section, yet every time we are promised, and this issue has been dragging on for two years. At least after this incident, we hope the relevant authorities will turn their words into action.'
