Absolute False News: Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Responds to Reports About 'Third Gender' Department

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has addressed the rumors circulating in the media over the past two days suggesting that structural changes in the ministry would include the establishment of a 'third gender' department.

The ministry categorically denies this information. Below is the full statement:

'Responding to the artificially circulated information in the media over the past two days regarding the alleged establishment of a 'third gender' department in the Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, which has no legal basis in Armenia and is merely a product of the author's imagination, we consider it necessary to inform that the 'news' is absolutely false. The structural changes of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs are being discussed in accordance with procedures in the government, without any significant substantive objections.'

Furthermore, we find it necessary to highlight that the core and foundation of the activities of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, as well as all state institutions, is the Constitution.

The main function of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is to support all citizens of Armenia who are in need of social protection. In this respect, every program implemented by the ministry, including structural changes, stems exclusively from this function,' the statement reads.
