Igor Khachaturyan Files Lawsuit Against Surik Khachatryan and His Wife
The company "D.I.A.R.-P.S." represented by Igor Khachaturyan, the son of former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturyan, has filed a lawsuit against Surik Khachatryan, the former governor of Syunik known by the nickname "Liska," and his wife, Loreta Barseghyan, as reported by Armtimes.com.
The plaintiff demands that the defendants voluntarily dismantle the structure and not obstruct the restoration of the land to its former state. The lawsuit was initially submitted to the court in October 2018 but faced technical issues. Igor Khachaturyan's representative, Gurgen Malkhasyan, submitted a new request on July 11, 2019. The case has been assigned to Judge Ruben Nersisyan of the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction.
In an interview with the website's correspondent, Malkhasyan stated that there were technical questions and the need for additional expertise, which necessitated re-submitting the same claim from a procedural standpoint after a certain period.
When asked whether Surik Khachatryan and Loreta Barseghyan had taken over the land belonging to Igor Khachaturyan, Malkhasyan replied: "Perhaps there was a verbal agreement, but according to their claims, they had an agreement with Igor Khachaturyan's father. From a legal standpoint, this is an abnormal phenomenon because no one's father has the legal right to decide the fate of their child's property."
