Tragic Incident: Body of 51-Year-Old Musician Recovered from Gyumush Reservoir

A tragic incident occurred today in the Kotayk region. At around 11:45 AM, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call from citizens reporting a body in the Gyumush hydroelectric plant reservoir located in the village of Karenis. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, rescuers from the MES team descended into the reservoir using special ropes and approached the body with an inflatable boat to recover it.

Preliminary investigations are underway regarding the incident. The medical examiner, upon inspecting the body at the scene, informed the police and investigators that there were no signs of violence on the body according to initial findings. Several examinations, including a forensic examination of the body, have been ordered by the investigator.

According to information from the photojournalist, the deceased was identified as 51-year-old Avetis Yanbekyan, a resident of Charentsavan, who had been reported missing by the Charentsavan police since yesterday. Citizens gathered at the scene expressed their sorrow, stating, "The deceased was a respected and beloved figure in Charentsavan, a musician by profession, and was regarded with respect by both older and younger individuals alike at his age. We feel great sadness and regret that he met such a senseless death."
