Car Crash into Gas Pipeline in Yerevan
On April 25 at 23:38, the 911 service received a call reporting that an accident had occurred near 2/7 Nubarashen Highway in Yerevan, where a car had crashed into a gas pipeline, resulting in a gas leak. Assistance from rescue services was required.
A firefighting and rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.
It was found that a BMW vehicle (driver G.M., born in 1979) had veered off the roadway and collided with the main gas pipeline, causing a gas leak. Nearby, there were electric wires hanging from a power pole. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
The rescuers disconnected the car’s battery and maintained a watch until the arrival of the gas emergency service and electric network personnel.
