Second Car Importers Will Not Be Taxed: The Issue Resolved
“Ten days ago, car importers came to a meeting in the National Assembly. The problem was that when importing a second car as a donation, a tax burden was arising, which could reach millions of drams depending on the value of the vehicle. The State Revenue Committee had sent relevant notices to our citizens, warning them about this impending burden,” said MP Mikayel Melkumyan during a conversation with reporters.
The MP noted that he had contacted the head of the State Revenue Committee and received a response stating that the draft amendment to the Tax Code is currently in the National Assembly and that changes cannot be made; however, it will be applied retroactively to ensure that this administrative action does not take place. “In other words, the State Revenue Committee will notify, but no tax burden will occur. This issue has been resolved,” he emphasized.
