Starting Today, the Import and Sale of Plastic Bags is Banned in Georgia
In Georgia, as part of an effort to reduce environmental pollution, the production, import, and consumption of polyethylene bags of any thickness is banned starting today. These will be replaced by biodegradable and recyclable bags.
Failure to comply with the law will result in a fine of 500 lari for the producing enterprise, with the product being confiscated. If the law is violated a second time, the fine will increase to 1000 lari.
