Extraordinary Elections for Community Leader to be Held in Azatamut
The Government of Armenia has decided to hold extraordinary elections for the community leader of Azatamut in the Tavush region on June 9.
According to Armenpress, the decision states that the leader of the Azatamut community, Zhora Martirosyan, was elected during the community leader elections that took place on September 18, 2016.
Zhora Martirosyan submitted his resignation on December 28, 2018. Pursuant to part 3 of Article 26 of the Law on Local Self-Government, the council of the Azatamut community in the Tavush region recorded the early termination of the community leader's powers on December 28, 2018.
