Will Garegin the Second Resign? Who Will Succeed Him?

According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', discussions have recently resurfaced regarding the potential resignation of the Catholicos of All Armenians, Garegin the Second, and it has been rumored that an agreement has been reached with the authorities of Armenia on this matter.

According to information received, the Catholicos wishes to see his own brother, Archbishop Ezras Nersisyan, the leader of the Russian and New Nakhichevan Armenian Diocese, as his successor. This decision may stem from Garegin the Second's concerns that a new Catholicos might reveal undesirable aspects of his tenure. There has been considerable speculation that during the rule of the Republican Party, the Supreme Patriarch had business connections, of course, with the permission of the political elite.

'Zhoghovurd' contacted the director of the Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Father Vahram Melikyan, for comments, but he did not respond to our calls and messages.
