Accident on Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan Highway: 1 Dead and 6 Injured

On January 26, a major and tragic traffic accident occurred in the Tavush region. Around 23:25, two vehicles collided on the 83rd kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway, at the second turn of Dilijan. The accident involved a DAF 105 truck driven by 32-year-old Varoujan Hakobyan and an Opel Astra driven by 35-year-old Arman Yeghikyan.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, the driver of the Opel, A. Yeghikyan, died at the scene. Passengers from Yerevan, 60-year-old Suren Badalyan, 54-year-old Dustrik Badalyan, 36-year-old Samvel Badalyan, 29-year-old Sima Margaryan, 18-year-old Artsvik Badalyan, and 2-year-old Alex Badalyan, were taken to the Dilijan medical center with various injuries.
