Russian Plane Crashes in Congo, Casualties Reported
A Russian An-26 cargo plane has crashed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with preliminary reports indicating that three crew members were Russian nationals. This information has been reported by Russian media outlets. The aircraft was carrying 23 individuals onboard.
According to initial data, six people have died as a result of the crash, including one of the pilots. The plane went down near the capital, Kinshasa (the exact location has not yet been confirmed). It was on a flight to one of the central regions of the country, where it was transporting materials for the central electoral commission.
Contact with the aircraft was lost after it crossed the administrative border of the capital. It is believed that adverse weather conditions may have been a contributing factor to the aviation accident.
