Foreigners to Undergo New Checks When Adopting Armenian Children
The procedure for the adoption of children who are citizens of the Republic of Armenia by foreign nationals has been amended in Armenia. The decision was made during a government meeting on August 13.
Under the new regulations, Armenian state authorities will also conduct checks in cases of adoption involving Armenian citizen children residing abroad.
Complete data about the child eligible for adoption and the person wishing to adopt must be provided to the Ministry of Justice. Based on the examination and analysis of the submitted data, a positive or negative conclusion regarding the adoption will be presented to the office of the Prime Minister of Armenia.
