Changes in Personnel Following Soldier's Death, Says Pashinyan
On August 13, the body of soldier Grigor Edgar Zakaryan from military unit N was found with a gunshot wound. An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has addressed the incident, stating that there will be personnel changes in the coming days concerning those responsible. “I have already made a decision; there will be changes in the military police, and we will have changes in the department of moral-psychological support. We will analyze in detail why the efforts exerted in that direction are not yielding the desired results for us. Conclusions will be drawn, and yes, there must be individual accountability,” Pashinyan stated.
Simultaneously, the Prime Minister noted that it is not his assessment that the Chief of General Staff and the Minister of Defense are not making sufficient efforts to resolve the issue.
The Ministry of Defense has expressed condolences and support to the family, relatives, and comrades of the deceased soldier.
