Trump Confirms Secret Change of Plane in Turkey
US President Donald Trump has confirmed that last month, while departing from Turkey, he secretly changed planes at the behest of the Secret Service. According to Trump, he was moved to another aircraft as security personnel made that decision. However, the president noted that the plane he eventually took off in seemed more vulnerable to him.
According to American media reports, after the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump was secretly transferred from the presidential plane to a military aircraft via a food supply truck. The reason for this, according to sources, was the potential threat of an attack from Iran.
“It’s the Secret Service’s decision. I just follow their instructions,” Trump said. He also mentioned that he receives numerous threats and does not ask many questions in such situations.
According to Reuters, Trump flew to Turkey on a plane provided and refurbished by Qatar. This was his first international flight on that aircraft.
