Eduard Sharmazanov, a member of the Republican Party's Governing Body, has commented on the phone conversations held by Ararat Mirzoyan and Ruben Rubinyan with representatives from Ukraine.

“On one hand, they declare a desire to resolve problems with Russia and the EAEU, while on the other, they are having phone calls with officials from Kyiv. What is the point of having these conversations, especially now, one after the other? One is talking to his Ukrainian counterpart while holding the position of Speaker of the National Assembly and now the Minister of Foreign Affairs is also on the phone with his counterpart in Kyiv. So what, what groundbreaking things are being discussed? I believe nothing; they have almost brought the chances of positive solutions on economic, export, and agricultural issues with the EAEU and Russia to zero.

How can one be so irresponsible towards the problems of their own citizens? If you want to solve the problems of our exporters and agricultural enterprises in EAEU countries, why worsen the situation by publicly engaging in phone conversations with representatives of official Kyiv? Now you might say that it is the sovereign right of the Republic of Armenia. Indeed, but what benefit does that bring to the Armenian economy and citizens? We must act for the Republic of Armenia, not out of spite for Russia,” Sharmazanov wrote.
