The representatives of the defense ministries of Israel and Greece have signed an agreement for the creation of the "Achilles Shield" multi-layer air defense system, valued at around €3 billion.

According to The Times of Israel, the project involves the supply of various long-range defense systems produced in Israel to Greece. These systems are designed to counter a wide range of aerial threats, including ballistic missiles and drones.

Within the framework of the agreement, Israel will create a comprehensive multi-layer air defense system for Greece, which will be entirely based on Israeli-produced systems and the operational experience accumulated by the Israeli defense ministry during wartime.

The document was signed by Amir Baram, the Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, and his Greek counterpart Ioannis Bouras. The parties also confirmed the purchase of €26 million worth of counter-drone systems and agreed on the transfer of Israeli technologies to Greek enterprises.
