Extensive Inspections: Hundreds of Vehicles Transferred to Special Areas

The police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that during the service conducted in the capital from August 24 to 31, the traffic police of Yerevan detected 5,693 violations of road traffic rules, transferring 193 vehicles to designated special areas.

Specifically, 157 drivers were found to be under the influence of alcohol, while 85 individuals were driving without a valid driver's license. Other violations include 22 related to registration numbers, 675 for not wearing seatbelts, 39 for not using child safety seats, 667 for smoking while driving, 282 for using phones while driving, 1,170 for pedestrians crossing at non-designated areas, and 1,446 other violations.

Additionally, 25 vehicles were operated without mandatory insurance (APS), 88 had not passed technical inspections, 88 had non-functional headlights, 30 had tinted windshields and side windows. Furthermore, 115 individuals were arrested and taken to community police departments on various suspicion.

During the same period in the regions, police detected 15,317 violations of road traffic rules, transferring 234 vehicles to special protected areas. There were 275 drivers under the influence of alcohol and 408 individuals driving without a valid driver's license. Other violations included 71 related to registration numbers, 3,410 for not wearing seatbelts, 266 for not using child safety seats, 682 for smoking while driving, 696 for using phones while driving, 285 for pedestrians crossing at non-designated areas, exceeding the speed limit for 2,570, and 5,161 other violations.

Additionally, 110 vehicles were operated without mandatory insurance, 656 had not passed technical inspections, 468 had non-functional headlights, and 123 had tinted windshields and side windows. Furthermore, 25 drivers were fined for using non-compliant amplifiers while driving. Besides, 38 individuals were arrested and taken to community police territorial departments on various suspicions.
