Changes to Driving Test Procedures: New Rules Effective September 1
Starting September 1, 2026, the theoretical examinations for obtaining a driver's license will be conducted under new regulations. This information was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
Previously, citizens aspiring to obtain the right to drive vehicles of various categories and subcategories answered questions from a unified questionnaire. Now, the questions from this unified questionnaire have been grouped into two main categories: one for categories A, B, C, and another for D and T categories, without adding any new questions.
What has changed? Aspirants for the right to drive vehicles in categories A, B, or C will answer questions from the common questionnaire for groups A, B, and C. On the other hand, those seeking to drive vehicles in categories D or T will respond to questions from the common questionnaire for groups D and T. The quality of accompanying images for the questions has been improved.
This new approach will enable a more targeted assessment of the applicants' theoretical knowledge required for safely and legally operating vehicles of the corresponding group.
