Europe and Ukraine Develop 12-Point Proposal to End War
According to Bloomberg, Europe and Ukraine are developing a 12-point proposal to cease hostilities along the current front lines. Sources indicate that the implementation of the proposed plan will be monitored by a peace council chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The proposals stipulate that when Russia, following Ukraine's lead, agrees to a ceasefire and both sides commit to halt territorial aggressions, all displaced children will be returned to Ukraine, there will be a prisoner exchange, security guarantees for Ukraine will be established, reconstruction funding will be provided, and a fast-tracked path to EU membership will be initiated.
Sanctions against Russia will be gradually lifted, although approximately $300 billion of the Central Bank's frozen reserves will only be returned to Moscow after it agrees to contribute to Ukraine's post-war reconstruction. Restrictions will automatically snap back into effect if Russia launches any further aggression against its neighbor.
