Criminal Proceedings Initiated Following Food Poisoning of 21 People at Lori Peak

Criminal proceedings have been initiated in relation to a mass food poisoning incident registered at the Lori Peak event venue in the Lori region's Jojkan community. This was reported to Aurora News by the Investigative Committee.

"Criminal proceedings have been initiated following Article 412, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, concerning the circulation of raw materials or products that do not meet safety requirements, performance of works, or provision of services. An expertise has been appointed," the Investigative Committee stated.

Article 412 of the Criminal Code pertains to the circulation of raw materials or products that do not meet safety requirements, execution of works, or provision of services. Part 1 of the article stipulates: "Producing, storing, transporting, delivering, acquiring, or selling raw materials or products that do not meet the safety requirements for human life or health for the purpose of sale, or performing such works or providing such services, if this act unintentionally causes moderate or mild bodily harm, is punishable by a fine of twenty to forty times the minimum wage, or community service of one hundred fifty to two hundred fifty hours, or restriction of freedom for a period of one to three years, or short-term imprisonment for one to two months, or imprisonment for one to four years."

Previously, the Food Safety Inspectorate reported that symptoms of food poisoning were observed in several participants following a wedding ceremony that took place at Lori Peak on July 26. According to official data, 15 individuals were hospitalized in Noyemberyan, and 6 in the Alaverdi medical center.

The Inspectorate also noted that gross violations of sanitary and hygienic norms were recorded during inspections, and the operational activities of the facility have been suspended until these violations are rectified.
