Trump Excludes Use of Nuclear Weapons Against Iran
Trump has ruled out the possibility of the U.S. using nuclear weapons against Iran. “I would never say that, but the answer is ‘yes’,” the American leader responded when asked if he excludes such a possibility.
“They are completely defeated militarily. And here I have won against them, and now should I use nuclear weapons against them? What a stupid question,” Trump added.
It is noteworthy that the U.S. and Israel began striking targets in Iranian territory on February 28, and the Iranian response was not long in coming. In mid-June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to cease military operations, but strikes resumed shortly after. At this moment, the conflict remains unresolved as the U.S. relies on economic pressure.
