Impressive Meteor Shower Expected Tonight

The peak of an unusual meteor shower called the Southern Delta Aquariids will occur on the night of July 30-31. If the weather is clear, it will be possible to see up to 25 'falling stars' per hour.

'Residents of Russia will have the opportunity to observe this peculiar meteor shower almost until the end of August. On the night of July 30-31, the Southern Delta Aquariids' meteoric stream will reach its peak. The Earth is passing through a long trail of cosmic dust,' the report states.

Under clear skies, up to 25 luminous phenomena are expected per hour. Particles entering the atmosphere create the impression of 'falling stars.' This meteor stream lasts quite a long time; its active phase lasts several days, while the period of high activity will continue until mid-August.
