Iran will continue to fulfill its obligations under the Islamabad memorandum if the United States also returns to its commitments. The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, stated that Iran’s proportional response followed the U.S. violation of its obligations. However, he emphasized that if Washington returns to fulfilling its commitments under the mentioned understanding, Tehran is immediately ready for reciprocity.

During a meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), he also noted that unlike the United States, Iran has a flawless track record of adhering to international agreements and obligations and has consistently followed the principles of international law.

It should be recalled that the U.S. and Israel began striking objects within Iranian territory on February 28, to which the Iranian side responded promptly. In mid-June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to cease military operations, but soon after, strikes resumed. Currently, the conflict remains unresolved, with the U.S. relying on economic pressure.
