Scandalous Reveal: New Details About the Events at the Pedagogical University
The investigation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has revealed that a specialist from the Chess Research Institute of the Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University embezzled a total of 5,336,916 Armenian drams by abusing his official powers. This information has been disclosed by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
"Specifically, it has been established that the director of the aforementioned institute, aware that the specialist in question had not been attending work and was not fulfilling his job responsibilities, included false information in official documents regarding the specialist’s attendance, thereby assisting the individual in embezzling a particularly large sum of 5,336,916 Armenian drams. Furthermore, the individual occupying the position of vice-rector of the university, knowing about the specialist's absence and failure to perform his duties, took no measures to terminate his employment status and stop paying him a salary.
Charges have been filed against the vice-rector of the Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, the specialist from the Chess Research Institute, and the director under Articles 441 (Part 2, Clause 2), 255 (Part 3, Clause 3), 46-255 (Part 3, Clause 3), and 445 (Part 1) of the Armenian Criminal Code.
During the investigation, the defendants fully compensated for the damage caused. The preliminary investigation has concluded, and the case materials have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia with an accusatory conclusion," the statement concludes.
