Baku Court Reaches Decision on Russian Prisoners
The Baku Serious Crimes Court has reached a verdict regarding two citizens of the Russian Federation in a case involving the legalization of proceeds obtained through cybercrime.
The hearings concerning Russian nationals Igor Zabolotsky and Ilnur Valitov have concluded at the Baku Serious Crimes Court. The IT specialists were accused of legalizing 98,000 manats obtained through cybercriminal activities.
During the session presided over by Judge Sabukh Huseynov, the verdict was announced, sentencing Igor Zabolotsky and Ilnur Valitov to three years of imprisonment each. Both defendants were found guilty under Article 193-1.3.2 of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code, which stipulates liability for the legalization of property obtained through criminal means.
