Maximum Program is to Make a Change of Power: Haik Marutyan
‘New Force’ party is conducting its campaign in the Shengavit administrative district. The party leader and Prime Minister candidate Haik Marutyan, in a conversation with reporters regarding their chances of entering the parliament, stated: ‘Naturally, saying some numbers or percentages is an ungrateful task, but I am confident that we will implement our minimum program. We have two programs: minimum and maximum; the minimum is to be represented in the parliament to advance our programs. This means for what purpose people give us their votes. And the maximum program is to change the power so that today’s government no longer operates and stops its wrong path. According to us, this is a completely wrong path that our authorities are pursuing today, and second, we can more quickly implement our programs.’
Marutyan stated that under no circumstances will they cooperate with the ‘Civil Contract’ party or the force led by Robert Kocharyan: ‘This, of course, refers to the case if they are locomotives. This non-cooperation is not conditioned by any personal preferences; the reasons are purely political. We have worked with ‘Civil Contract’ for three years and we understand that we cannot realize our programs with them; this cooperation is pointless, and there are many things we dislike about their actions. The same political reasons apply regarding the force led by Kocharyan; we have seen their work over 10 years, and what was happening during their time has absolutely nothing to do with our programs,’ he added.
It is noteworthy that the parliamentary elections will take place on June 7. 19 political parties and alliances are participating in the elections, with the ‘New Force’ party listed as number 5.
