Mr. Macron, Do Not Turn Armenia into a Battlefield of Conflict: Ishkhan Saghatelyan
“Dear Mr. Macron, the warm and fraternal relations between Armenia and France are not a historic achievement of you and Pashinyan,” wrote Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the Armenia parliamentary faction, on his Facebook page.
“All presidents of the French Republic have visited Armenia many times on various occasions, including state visits. The warm and strong relations that have remained a legacy are the result of decades of work, which you and Pashinyan wish to not only appropriate but also distort. It is not only offensive but also unacceptable to refer to the years of Armenia's independence as a period of being a satellite for your geopolitical interests.
We already have many problems to deal with, and if you truly value the long-standing friendship between our countries, it would be better to address them with concrete steps, rather than turning Armenia into a geopolitical battleground. We will do everything possible to ensure that Armenia never becomes a satellite of any country, especially not of Turkey or Azerbaijan,” Saghatelyan wrote.
