Zelensky Threatens Sanctions Against Israel
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has threatened to impose sanctions on Israel regarding the acceptance of grain shipments from Donbas.
The issue pertains to the acceptance of grain deliveries sent from Donbas by Israeli ports. Zelensky stated that this cannot be regarded as a private business matter, as Israeli authorities are obligated to be aware of the ships arriving at the country’s ports and their cargoes.
“This cannot be a private business. The Israeli authorities cannot be unaware of which ships are arriving in the country’s ports and with what cargo,” he asserted.
According to the President, the planned package of sanctions will target the carriers, companies, and individuals involved in these supplies. “Ukraine, based on information from our intelligence services, is preparing an appropriate package of sanctions that will include not only those who are directly transporting this grain but also the physical and legal entities trying to profit from such criminal schemes. We will also coordinate this with our European partners to ensure that the relevant individuals are included in European sanctions regimes,” Zelensky wrote.
