Iranian Officials Issue Unified Message
The leadership of Iran has issued a joint statement emphasizing the unity of the nation and the government. The unified message, nearly simultaneously published on the social media accounts of senior Iranian officials, conveys the same sentiment.
“There are neither radicals nor moderates in Iran. We are all ‘Iranians’ and ‘revolutionaries’, and thanks to the iron unity of the nation and the government, fully obeying the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, we will make the aggressor regret his actions,” states the announcement shared by Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
They emphasized, “One God, one nation, one leader, and one path. This path is the path to victory for our beloved Iran, which is more precious than life itself.”
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also noted in his statement that state institutions are presenting a united front. “The battlefield and diplomacy are fully coordinated fronts in the same war,” the minister assured, adding that Iranians today are more united than ever.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that following Araghchi's message about the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) expressed dissent, stating that they would not comply with “the tweets of some fool.” According to the publication, this conflict highlighted internal divisions within Iran.
