The Keys Are Under the Flowerpot: Iran's Embassy

Iran's embassies in Zimbabwe and South Africa have mocked U.S. President Donald Trump's demand to open the Strait of Hormuz on social media.

"We have lost the keys," responded the Iranian embassy in Zimbabwe on its social media page. The Iranian diplomatic mission in South Africa continued along the same lines, stating that "the keys are under the flowerpot" and added that the entrance to the strait is open "only for friends."

On April 5, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that American forces would destroy all of Iran's bridges and power plants if the "madmen" in Tehran did not open the "damned Strait of Hormuz." Meanwhile, Iran had declared that it could strike U.S. and Israeli infrastructure. Major General Ali Abdullah, commander of the Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters, mentioned that "the gates of hell will be opened for the adversaries." His statement came after Trump's ultimatum, which gave Tehran 48 hours regarding the Strait of Hormuz and a potential deal with Washington.
