Peskov Comments on Reports of Iran's New Leader Mojtaba Khamenei Arriving in Moscow for Treatment
The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, did not comment on reports regarding the arrival of Iran's new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, in Moscow for medical treatment.
"We do not comment on such reports in any way," said the Kremlin spokesman in response to a question regarding the plausibility of information from the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, which claimed that Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, had been secretly flown to Moscow for treatment.
The newspaper reported that Khamenei was injured on the first day of the United States and Israel's attack on Iran and was evacuated to Moscow via a secret flight for treatment. According to the newspaper, Khamenei successfully underwent surgery in Moscow and is now receiving treatment at a clinic located within the grounds of one of Putin's residences. However, this information lacks official confirmation.
