Several Roads Closed Due to Snowstorm
As of 16:30 on February 27, due to heavy snowfall and lack of visibility, the Vardenyats Pass, the Ashotsk-Bavra road, and the stretch from the Jermuk intersection to Gorayk are closed to all types of vehicles. This was reported by the Road Department.
The roads from Gndevaz to Jermuk, Vanadzor to Alaverdi, and Vanadzor to Dilijan are also blocked for vehicles with trailers. Additionally, the section from Megrik Pass to Kajaran, as well as the Spitak and Dilijan serpentine roads, are closed for similar vehicles.
Due to snow and low visibility, the Alagyaz-Tsilkhar and Alagyaz-Norashen roads are difficult to pass.
Snow is falling in the regions of Nairi, Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Artik, Akhuryan, Ashotsk, Ararat, Vayk, Sisian, Goris, Kapan, Meghri, Dilijan, Sevan, Gavar, Martuni, Vardenis, and in the Vardenyats Pass.
Responsible organizations for road maintenance continue to carry out snow clearing and salting operations on the roads.
