Earthquake in Armenia: Magnitude of Tremors Known
On February 24, 2026, at 5:33 AM local time (01:33 AM Greenwich Mean Time), the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia recorded an earthquake measuring 2.2 in magnitude. The quake occurred at geographical coordinates 40.02° North and 44.54° East, 10 km southeast of the town of Masis, at a depth of 10 km.
The seismic intensity in the epicentral zone was assessed at 2-3 points, with no reports of damage. The earthquake was felt in the town of Masis, as well as in the villages of Mkhchyan and Dvin, registering an intensity of 2-3 points.
