Deadline Set for Commercial Fishing of Carp in Lake Sevan: Details
Until November 20, commercial fishing of carp is permitted in Lake Sevan with a quota of 550 tons, which represents 40% of the commercial stock. This decision was made during today's government meeting.
It is noted that fishing will be allowed throughout the entire area of Lake Sevan, at least 500 meters away from the shore.
"Fishing is prohibited using grappled, produced mechanical or manual methods, with synthetic nylon or other polyamide fibers, where the diameter of the line is less than 0.5 mm and the mesh size is less than 80 mm (where the structural step size of the mesh is less than 40 mm) with fishing nets (nets)," the justification for the decision states.
