Peace is the Greatest Respect for Victims: Pashinyan
I would like to express my gratitude to both peoples for the understanding that the past is not subject to change and is beyond our capabilities; therefore, we should not focus on what we cannot change. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the 'Zayed' Human Brotherhood Award ceremony in 2026.
‘We must focus on building a peaceful and prosperous future for our nations. This is not an easy path, because there is great distrust, pessimism, anger, and even hatred. Many have died during the conflict, and many grieving families are watching what is happening here. Some of them may consider this event inappropriate, but the continuation of suffering is neither a relief nor a sign of respect for those who have suffered. The continuation of killings is neither a relief nor a sign of respect for those who have been killed and their relatives,’ he said.
‘Peace is the only comfort for everyone, and peace is the greatest respect for victims,’ he added, while also thanking U.S. President Donald Trump, whose personal involvement and dedication to the ideal of peace, according to Pashinyan, were key factors in the signing of the peace agreement.
