French Parliament's Lower House Demands Immediate Release of Armenian Prisoners
The French Parliament's lower house has unanimously adopted a resolution demanding the immediate and unconditional release of representatives of the political and military leadership of Artsakh, as well as all Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan. The document was passed with a vote of 183 in favor and 0 against.
The resolution warns that the detention of Armenian prisoners and legal proceedings against them may jeopardize the implementation of the joint declaration signed in Washington on August 8, 2025.
The resolution reaffirms support for the Armenian population of Artsakh, who have been forcibly displaced from their historical homeland, and emphasizes the right to self-determination for Armenians in Artsakh, as well as the responsibility of the international community to demand guarantees for the safe return of Armenians from Azerbaijan.
