One in Three Teachers Successfully Passed Certification, Says Zhanna Andreasian
The results of the voluntary certification have been fully summarized. A total of 9,602 teachers, which constitutes about 31 percent of our teaching staff, have successfully passed the certification and are eligible for increased remuneration. This was stated by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasian, during a Q&A session in the National Assembly.
“This indeed shows good dynamics and progress. We are not only witnessing this trend in voluntary certification, for example, the rate of applications and approvals for teaching classifications has increased more than threefold. These policies are yielding concrete results,” she said.
The minister added that around 4,000 new teachers entered our schools last year, with 80 percent of them being under the age of 45. “These are individuals who have chosen pedagogy, the profession of teaching, because they see the government’s policy and recognize that thanks to it, teachers have the opportunity for dignified remuneration through relevant professional development channels,” the minister remarked.
