7 individuals subjected to administrative detention: new details about the Iranian protests in Yerevan
The security of the gathering taking place in front of the Iranian Embassy is being properly ensured by the Ministry of Internal Affairs police. This was stated to AuroraNews by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Narek Sargsyan.
“The march is not authorized; therefore, the implementation of the march has been prohibited. During the gathering, seven individuals have been subjected to administrative detention for violating Article 182 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (failure to comply with the lawful demand of a police officer),” said Narek Sargsyan. “The Ministry of Internal Affairs police will continue to exercise its powers granted by law to ensure public order.”
It is reminded that today a protest action was again held near the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Yerevan. According to “Azatutyun,” the situation escalated after participants attempted to march towards the Blue Mosque.
