Georgia to Charge for Transit of Azerbaijani Gasoline to Armenia
Georgia has decided to impose a fee for the second transit of gasoline imported from Azerbaijan to Armenia. This was announced by Karen Ayriyan, the director of "Mega Trade" company.
According to him, during the upcoming imports, not only Premium but also Regular gasoline will be delivered from Azerbaijan to Armenia. The import will be conducted via Georgian territory, for which a corresponding fee will be charged this time.
Ayriyan noted that the transit fee will not significantly impact the final price of fuel. He assessed that the fluctuations in currency exchange rates and the prices of petroleum products in global markets have a much greater influence on gasoline pricing.
It is reported that the main importers of Azerbaijani gasoline in the Armenian market are "Mega Trade" and "Shisha World" companies. Sources state that during the first transit, Georgia did not charge a fee for the transportation of Azerbaijani fuel.
