Greta Thunberg Arrested in London During Protest Against Israeli Arms Sales
Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has been arrested in London during a protest against arms sales to Israel. According to TASS, this information was reported in a statement from the British movement 'Prisoners for Palestine.'
It was noted that Thunberg was arrested in front of the Aspen Insurance office, which provides services to the Israeli Elbit defense company. The organization stated that the activist was 'detained under anti-terrorism laws' for displaying a banner supporting the pro-Palestinian movement 'Palestine Action,' which is banned in the UK.
The city police emphasized that two other protesters were also arrested for spraying red paint on the front of the office building. On July 5, the UK Home Office included 'Palestine Action' in its list of banned organizations. Membership, attendance at its meetings, and any form of support for its activities have become criminal offenses, carrying a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.
On June 20, activists from 'Palestine Action' entered the Brayton Norton airbase in southwest England and damaged two RAF Voyager tankers.
