Specially Equipped Vehicles to Patrol Yerevan: Avinyan

The Yerevan City Hall is implementing artificial intelligence tools in the management of the city. Next year, they will acquire a vehicle equipped with special equipment to patrol the streets of Yerevan, documenting the condition of the asphalt, illegal advertisements, and accumulating waste. This was announced by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan during a procedural meeting.

“In fact, we are already receiving data on potholes in Yerevan without involving human resources, even without the 'Active Citizen' platform, through the cameras placed on our buses and the integrated artificial intelligence system. Next year, we will procure a separate vehicle with its Lidar equipment that will simply patrol all the streets, documenting not only the condition of Yerevan's asphalt but also accumulating waste in various areas, illegal advertisements, and everything we program it to detect. In other words, the functions that different divisions physically had to execute will be automated,” said the mayor. Avinyan noted that the functions of the departments will slightly change.
