US Military Sends Signal to Venezuelan President
American military personnel have boarded an oil tanker near the shores of Venezuela, which has been engaged in transporting Venezuelan oil and is not on the US sanctions list. This was reported by Axios, citing its sources.
According to the publication, the tanker in question has become a target of American military operations despite the absence of US restrictions. One of the publication's sources indicated that the action aims to send a message to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
The portal notes that this move is seen as a display of force, emphasizing that the administration of former US President Donald Trump might have considered inspecting and even seizing oil shipments, regardless of whether the vessel was under sanctions.
At the same time, it remains unclear whether the US intends to take control of the oil aboard the tanker. No official comments have been released regarding this issue.
