Armenia Will Have to Make a Choice: Ovechuk on Pashinyan's Statement
At some point, Armenia will have to make a choice between the EU and the EAEU; it is impossible to remain simultaneously in both unions, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Ovechuk. Earlier, Pashinyan had stated that leaving the Eurasian Economic Union is not the goal, but becoming a member of the EU is.
“We understand that it is not possible to be a member of both the Eurasian Economic Union and the EU at the same time, and we recognize that there is some point at which we must make a decision. But today is not that point. There is no need to make such a decision today, and if there is no need, then why should we make one,” he said.
