Vardan Ghukasyan Files Lawsuit Against Ruben Rubinyan and the Republic of Armenia
The mayor of Gyumri, Vardan Ghukasyan, has filed a lawsuit against the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, and the Republic of Armenia. Ghukasyan is demanding the retraction of defamatory information disseminated against him, recognition of the violation of his presumption of innocence, and compensation.
This was reported by Hetq. On his Facebook page, Ruben Rubinyan referred to Vardan Ghukasyan as a “corrupt scoundrel” following Ghukasyan's indictment in a criminal case being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
In one of his posts, Rubinyan wrote alongside a photo of Ghukasyan: “6 months and 1 day: According to the Anti-Corruption Committee, this is exactly how long it took for him to return to his favorite business of corruption and get caught. Those who made him mayor—Kocharian, Sargsyan, Vanetsyan, the ARF, and others—bear political responsibility for this. The one who blessed him, Archbishop Katrych Nersisyan, who yearns for power, is also responsible. And they want to repeat this on a nationwide scale in 2026, so they can come back and resume their plunder. We will not let this happen.”
