Vagharshapat Residents Showed Which Path They Choose: Tigran Avinyan
The victory of the Civil Contract party in the Vagharshapat elections is a clear expression of the people's will. The residents of Vagharshapat have shown which path they are choosing—a path of peace, freedom, and democracy. This was stated by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan on his Facebook page.
“I congratulate Arghishti Mekhakyan on his deserved victory. This is a victory for the team, but first and foremost, it is a victory for the residents of Vagharshapat who have chosen the development of their community and democracy. I congratulate and thank all the residents of Vagharshapat for their position. With this election, Vagharshapat dispelled the illusions that fed the former authorities and their offshoots, which hoped for a return,” Avinyan wrote.
“Society has clearly shown that the future of the country is based not on old methods and closed systems, but on the strengthening of peace, freedom, and democracy. The Civil Contract party will continue to move forward with the same principles for the stable, democratic, and secure development of our country,” he added.
It should be noted that the candidate of the Civil Contract party, Arghishti Mekhakyan, has reportedly won the elections in Vagharshapat according to preliminary data.
