Putin-Trump Summit Could Happen Anytime, Orbán Says
The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, has announced that only one or two unresolved issues remain between Russia and the United States regarding their positions on the Ukraine conflict. He made this statement in an interview with the Magyar Nemzet newspaper.
According to Orbán, if these issues are clarified, it would be possible to organize a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Budapest. The Prime Minister noted that such a summit could take place any day, provided both sides are willing.
“There are a few unresolved issues in the US-Russia negotiations. If they are resolved, the Budapest peace summit could be held within days, followed by a possible ceasefire and the establishment of peace,” Orbán said. He added that there would be no need for a Hungarian peacekeeping mission if leading European countries recognize that a military solution to this conflict does not exist.
